January 2012 brings freezing temperatures. No more winter walks with shirtsleeves. Make sure that cats and dogs are safe INSIDE. Report animals left out in the cold to your local animal control agency.

The Washington Animal Rescue League was established in 1914. Several years later the League built D.C.'s first animal shelter. In 2006 the League completed a renovation that features a state-of-the-art cat and dog adoption center and a full-service medical center. Designed entirely from the animals' point of view, the facility supports the physical, mental, and social well-being of its resident animals.
